Night Owl - Screen Dimmer & Night Mode is an Android app that, in order to reduce the blue light emitted by your device, dims the backlight of the screen and also applies a color filter on it. It can be turned on manually as well as automatically based on a schedule of your choosing. It is able to turn on automatically at night, using the sunrise and sunset times of your location, but, unfortunately, this is a premium feature available only if you buy the app.
One thing that we found interesting is the fact that it offers you the option to use an "advanced filter," meaning that you can manually choose the red, green, and blue colors values of the "night light" filter.

7. The Night Light mode that's built-in on your Android smartphone
Last but not least, there's also the built-in option that most smartphones running Android 7 Nougat or newer have. Android uses Night Light as the name for its blue light filtering feature but some manufacturers like changing names, so you might find it labeled as Blue Light Filter, Comfort View, Night Mode, Eye Care, Night Display, etc. To find it on your Android, open the Settings and navigate to the Display settings. If you don't see it there, try to use the Search to find one of the "night light" terms that we've mentioned.
For example, on my Huawei P20, the built-in blue light filter options are found in Settings -> Display & brightness -> Colour & eye comfort -> Eye Comfort -> Blue Light Filter.
